När grundades SSN?

I början av september samlades sjuksköterskeorganisationerna från de fem nordiska länderna Finland, Sverige, Norge, Danmark och Island som tillsammans bildar Sjuksköterskors samarbete i Norden, (SSN), samt Färöarna som är egna medlemmar i SSN. Vid mötet diskuterades sjuksköterskors situation och förutsättningar för god och säker vård.

År 1920 samlades inte mindre än 1000 modiga sjuksköterskepionjärer från de nordiska länderna och grundade SSN. Sjuksköterskors samarbete i Norden har nu funnits 100 år och är i dag en stark organisation som fungerar som paraplyorganisation för totalt 340 000 sjuksköterskor i de fem nordiska länderna. SSN arbetar likt Svensk sjuksköterskeförening för bättre utbildning, ökat mandat och sjuksköterskors möjlighet att bedriva omvårdnadsforskning. Vid mötet konstaterades att frågorna i dag och för 100 år sedan är nästan detsamma, men att världen har förändrats.

Vad menas med SSN?

All persons who are registered in Sweden are given a personal identity number. The personal identity number is an identity designation that you retain your whole life. The personal identity number consists of a person’s date of birth, a birth number and a check digit. The only information that can be gleaned from your personal identity number is your date of birth and sex. The sex is specified by the second to last digit, and is odd for males and even for females.

All countries have some kind of personal id or social security number, the personnumer (also known as personal number) is your identity number in Sweden. You will only be issued one number and you will have the same number for the rest of your life. It is written as the year you were born, your birth month and date, and finishes with 4 random digits at the end (YYYYMMDD-XXXX).

You will need the personal number to do almost everything in Sweden. From paying taxes and receiving a salary, to opening an internet or cell-phone subscription, to getting a gym card at your local gym. You will also need your personal number to access the same healthcare benefits as Swedish citizens. The process to get a personal number can take some time, but it is an integral part of settling into your life in Sweden.

Vad är mitt SSN nummer?

I USA har man inte alls samma sociala skyddsnät som man har i Sverige. Men Social Security finns i alla fall. Därifrån får man bland annat den statliga pensionen men man kan även få andra bidrag samt en slags sjukförsäkring (om man inte har någon annan sjukförsäkring).

Har alla svenska medborgare ett personnummer?
